Idea

SafeDeploy  is a DevOps and CI/CD solution. Our USP is comparing the existing with the updated software releases to predict the updates behavior before it gets into production. Safedeploy enables DevOps to run an automated test cycle of the whole application with the new code/feature before it gets into production. Safedeploy ensures that all pre-existing functionality works in each new release, eliminating the need for time consuming and error prone regression testing.

Current Status

We have achieved to find two pilot customers. We expect some more to come in a month or two after most of the companies has settled more or less now with the new normal. The development stage is in beta version.

Market

We are in the DevOps tool market. The initial customers are DevOps in large and midsize companies where the dependency on online revenue is high and failure cause a severe issue to the customer base. I have so far interviewed since 02/20 more then 430 potential customers. The estimated TAM is $184B.

Problem or Opportunity

There are many DevOps and CI/CD tools in the market which are more or less integrated into each other. Also a few companies are offering either a service to integrate them or offering their own platforms. What all the solutions have in common is that as soon the code is deployed in production the traceability of what deploy did what is very hard and sometimes impossible. If issues are occurring - based on studies more then 1/3 of all deploys - the root cause and fast fixing is very hard and ends up in time consuming analyses and fixes. Safedeploy helps DevOps in their CI/CD pipeline to predict the updates behavior before it gets into production by running an automated test cycle of the whole application with the new code/feature to compare the existing with the updated software. As well it offers a unique root causes analysis which allows to pinpoint the issue and have a fast fix of the problem.

Due to that Safedeploy provides the full visibility into what’s going on during build and what gets pushed when in production with operation valuable information to solve issues in production – faster.

Advantages or differentiators

Barriers of entry: - First mover - 2 to 3 Year ahead of competition in development - Complex problem due to that large competitors can follow, for start ups harder to reach Competitive Advantage with the following patent pending processes: 1. Comparing versions V1.0 to V1.1 or more 2. Play back real user behavior (used for testing and setting up a reference point) 3. AI based root cause analysis (offline like a video) 4. Collecting complete execution stream of an application

Finance

Safedeploy sits between Dev and Ops. We are going to charge in the development area $5.90 per user/month and for our data collection in production $99 per host/month.

Business model

We are targeting large and midsize companies where there is a high dependency on online/software as service revenue and reputation in two ways: One is a direct sales approach and one is with channel partner like HCL technologies, Infosys or SAP. Those partners are going to use it first in their environment and expanding their business with our solution to their customers. The beachhead seems to be companies like SAP where the accounting part is playing a large role in their whole concept. Having problems in accounting due to updates in other parts of the their solution has a high impact and a lot of attention!
